Updated: Oct 9, 2023

As more information is released to us about the chemicals that we live with every day, many people are looking for solutions that are safer for their families. In today’s chemical-laden world, it is hard to figure out where to start to achieve a chemical-free life. Although it’s practically impossible to achieve a chemical-free life, any change is beneficial. Today we are going to talk about natural cleaning solutions because we all must clean our homes & I even have some free easy-to-follow recipes. So, grab a cookie, get comfy, & let’s talk cleaning supplies!

Clear glass spray bottle with white tops & anti-slip silicone sleeves on bottoms

All Purpose Cleaner: 12 oz bottle, 6oz Water, 6oz White Vinegar, & 25 drops of lemon essential oil. White vinegar helps to break through the grease & grime, but lemon is a powerful disinfectant. I use orange, lemon, & lime in mine for a burst of energizing citrus scent.

Window & Glass Cleaner:12 oz bottle, 6 oz Water, 6 oz white vinegar, 1 tsp rubbing alcohol, & 25 drops of essential oils. This is a streak-free recipe. I like to use peppermint & lavender together. They are both antibacterial & together they give you a calm but refreshing scent. You can create your own or use mine!

Air Freshener / Linen Spray: 8 oz Bottle, 4 oz Water, 3 oz Witch Hazel & 15 drops of any essential oils will eliminate odors without the use of harmful chemicals. I like to use a combo of my Goodnight Moon blend in this for a linen spray for my bed. It smells great & helps to lull me off to sleep quickly.

small bamboo plate with white towel folded, white ceramic vase with green eucalyptus in it, & a clear glass pump top bottle with translucent blue liquid inside; black label with white cursive lettering on bottle that says soap

Bathroom Scrub: Combine 1 cup baking soda, ¼ cup liquid castile soap, & 30 drops tea tree oil to create a powerful antimicrobial paste that tackles germs, mold, & mildew. (Tea tree is not safe around dogs & cats so please use it with caution or use a substitute)

These products are not only effective, but they provide numerous health benefits to you, your family & our planet. The added bonus is that they smell amazing too! By utilizing essential oils to create natural cleaning solutions, you can maintain a clean & healthy home environment, reduce your exposure to harsh chemicals, and save some money. These homemade alternatives are not only cost-effective, but they also allow you to tailor your products to specific needs & scents. Let’s embrace the power of essential oils & embark on this journey together. I am right here with you & if you ever need some help, just ask. There are several communities on Facebook that you will find resourceful or contact me; I am always willing to help.
